Questions, Answered
The short version of who we are, where we work, and how a project runs.
- What is Metros Wood?
- Metros Wood is a family-run custom cabinetry and woodwork shop in Jupiter, Florida. The shop was founded in 1992 as Metropolitan Woodwork, and two generations of the Sartor family run it today. Every project is designed, built, finished, and installed by our own team for homes across Palm Beach County.
- Where is Metros Wood located?
- The shop is at 3065 Jupiter Park Cir Unit 3 & 4, Jupiter, FL 33458. Phone (561) 250-8812, email info@metroswood.com. Hours are Monday through Friday, 9am to 5pm, and all visits are by appointment.
- What areas does Metros Wood serve?
- Palm Beach County, Florida. We have completed projects in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, North Palm Beach, and Jupiter Island, including Admirals Cove, The Bear's Club, BallenIsles, Frenchman's Creek, Frenchman's Reserve, Mirasol, Old Palm, Lost Tree Village, and Seminole Landing.
- What does Metros Wood build?
- Custom kitchens, bathroom vanities, closets and dressing rooms, bars and wine rooms, built-ins and wall units, architectural woodwork such as paneling and coffered ceilings, and custom furniture.
- Is Metros Wood a fully custom cabinet maker?
- Yes. Everything is fully custom and built in our Jupiter shop. We do not sell semi-custom, stock, or catalog cabinet lines, and we do not outsource boxes, doors, or finishing.
- Who runs Metros Wood?
- Metros Wood was founded by Sergio Sartor Sr., a designer with 35 years of experience who established the shop's design standards and serves as Founder and Creative Director. Marny Sartor is Director of Client Relations. Sergio Sartor Jr. is Director of Operations.
- Does Metros Wood work with interior designers and architects?
- Yes. We work from a sketch, CAD file, or full specification package, return shop drawings for redline, and coordinate with the project's trades on site. We do not market to a designer's client. See our page for designers and architects.
- Does Metros Wood have a showroom?
- No. Metros Wood is a working shop, not a showroom. Consultations are by appointment, at your home, with your designer, or at the shop.
- How does a project with Metros Wood start?
- Schedule a private consultation. We meet at your home or with your designer to walk the project. Our team develops the design through measured drawings and shop drawings. Then we build, finish, and install, all under one roof and by the same crew.
- How long does a custom kitchen take?
- Typically 12 to 16 weeks from approved drawings to install. Bathroom vanities and closets typically take 8 to 12 weeks, and built-ins 8 to 14 weeks. Stone, appliances, and finish complexity can extend a schedule.
- Will custom cabinetry hold up to South Florida humidity?
- Ours is built for it. We use marine-grade plywood and solid wood substrates with conversion-varnish finish systems engineered for coastal, high-humidity homes. We do not use particleboard. Cabinet boxes carry a 25-year structural warranty, and drawer slides and hinges are Blum or Salice.
- Does Metros Wood install its own work?
- Yes. The crew that builds the cabinetry installs it, scribing and fitting on site, and handles the punch list.
- How much does custom cabinetry from Metros Wood cost?
- We do not publish pricing. Every project is different, and pricing is discussed in a private consultation once we understand the scope, materials, and schedule.
